Job summary

Upbound is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help build and operate Upbound Spaces, the multi-control-plane management software at the heart of the platform. In this role you will scale production cloud services, develop Go code interfacing with the Kubernetes API, and contribute to both product development and production operations.

Seattle-based or Bay Area-friendly hybrid work is preferred. You will own critical features, investigate complex issues, and participate in on-call rotations to

Qualifications

• Operating production cloud services at scale.
• Debugging distributed systems with observability tools.
• Building/controllers that interact with the Kubernetes API server.
• Working directly with customers to understand and resolve issues.
• Taking ownership of problems and incidents, even when outside your lane.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate Upbound Spaces in production.
• Own high-demand features for Upbound's customers.
• Investigate and debug complex issues in multi-tenant environments.
• Communicate through design docs and post-incident reviews.
• Support the full project lifecycle for scalable, reliable cloud services.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support Upbound Cloud.
