Job summary

Harris Computer is seeking a senior software engineer in the United States to develop scalable applications and modules with a focus on Java (11/17+), Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and database technologies. The role involves design, architecture, testing, and cross-functional collaboration, including AI-assisted development tools.

You will work with React/Next.js and Material UI on front-end experiences and leverage cloud and microservices patterns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years software development with 3+ years as Software Engineer focusing on scalable systems.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, algorithms, and system architecture.
• Leadership in technical discussions and decision making.
• Experience with cloud technologies and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Write code and contribute to software applications, modules, or components.
• Participate in requirements analysis, design, architecture, integration, testing, and project management.
• Test code to identify bugs and ensure quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with architects, designers, and product managers to align with goals and timelines.
• Experience with Spring Boot and RESTful API design for external and internal consumption.
• Work with relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Work with Elasticsearch for search/indexing needs.
• Experience with React, Next.js and Material UI.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and prompt engineering.
