Job description

Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Remote

Imagen Technologies is a high-growth healthcare startup enabling patients to be diagnosed, treated, and managed at their Primary Care appointment (vs. having to refer out to hospitals, imaging centers, and other slow and expensive options). Today, we’ve built an AI-enabled platform that enables patients to receive immediate diagnostic tests, immediate results, and immediate next steps – all in a single Primary Care appointment. For example: through our platform, women across the U.S. are now receiving comprehensive breast imaging, results, and specialist-driven next steps at their local Primary Care office, condensing a multi-month diagnostic journey into 60 minutes.

With over $160m in funding from Google Ventures and some of the largest clinical networks in the country, we are rapidly expanding this platform across the U.S. - from 16 states and 500,000 patients in 2023 to 20+ states and 1.5m patients in 2024. By 2026, we will be delivering care across 35 states and to more than 5m patients per year.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure to join a small, high-impact team that not only owns the cloud infrastructure and applications that support our medical imaging business, but also builds products to help our customers improve the quality of care they provide. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about building and scaling the cloud infrastructure with automation and antifragile architecture that supports our business and services that directly save patient lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Be curious and learn about medical imaging services.
  • Deliver high-quality work. You will own and drive the technical vision of the systems and solutions that impact business outcomes for the company.
  • Build highly available, secure and scalable infrastructure and cloud solutions to support our medical imaging services and adjacent products that help our customers provide better care for their patients.
  • Ensure industry best practices for architecture, security, compliance, development and Generative AI.
  • Propose and review system and architecture designs to ensure the team is making appropriate tradeoffs to meet goals.
  • Build solutions, platforms and self-service tools for recurring/operational activities.

Qualifications:

  • Mission-driven and passionate about improving healthcare outcomes.
  • 5+ years of professional Software Development, DevOps or Platform Engineering experience in an agile environment with exposure to best practices, ideally across various teams and environments.
  • Strong software design and programming skills.
  • Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and related tools and frameworks. Terraform is a plus.
  • Experience in building highly available architectures (auto-scaling, containerized and serverless) in the cloud, primarily in AWS. Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure or other cloud providers experience is a plus.
  • Detail and execution-oriented, with the ability to communicate complex technical ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience working in healthcare (or life sciences) is a plus, experience working with software as medical devices is a plus.
  • BS in Computer Science or a related field, or comparable experience.
