Job summary

Instacart is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to lead the Paid MarTech pod, shaping the technical roadmap and scalable systems at the Marketing-Product-Engineering intersection. You will influence architectural decisions and mentor engineers across teams.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of software engineering experience
• Expert-level Python
• Experience building scalable, high-throughput systems with observability and cost efficiency
• Ability to partner with senior Product and Marketing leaders
• Mentorship of engineers and cross-team influence
• Strong communication and stakeholder management

Responsibilities

• Drive the team's technical roadmap and architectural decisions for reusable, scalable systems.
• Evolve processes, tools, and abstractions to boost developer productivity and code quality.
• Lead cross-team initiatives and align with senior Product and Marketing leaders on design decisions.
• Champion observability, resilience, cost optimization, and security-by-design across projects.
• Mentor engineers up to L5 and resolve cross-team blockers.
