About the role:
The Risk Intelligence team builds fullstack systems and customer-facing products that power Samsara’s AI-driven safety and risk solutions. Our mission is to transform massive streams of video, telemetry, and contextual data into actionable insights that help fleets reduce accidents, exonerate drivers, and manage operational risk. At scale, this means not only detecting risky driving behaviors but also uncovering complex patterns across vehicles, infrastructure, and environments to provide a holistic view of safety.
As a Senior Software Engineer II on the team, you will design and deliver AI-powered products across web, mobile, and API surfaces that surface new detections and insights at scale. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Design, and ML teams to integrate cutting-edge models into customer workflows, own complex technical problems spanning data pipelines to front-end experiences, and deliver scalable, reliable systems that improve real-world outcomes for fleets globally.
This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US.
Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually. We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market. The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. $150,237.50 — $252,500 USD
