Job summary

Principal Global Investors seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Retirement & Income Solutions team. You will provide architectural oversight for modernizing our process orchestration and workflow platform, designing scalable solutions and guiding platform delivery in a regulated environment.

You will drive architectural decisions across cloud-native, event-driven, and API-first approaches, create reference architectures, and mentor engineers while partnering with business and technology

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Associate degree in CS/Engineering/Math or related field.
8+ years enterprise-level engineering experience.
5+ years AWS experience (GCP/Azure optional).
Experience in SaaS/configurable enterprise applications.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Provide architectural oversight for modernization of the workflow platform.
Design scalable solutions and guide platform delivery in a regulated environment.
Influence architecture for cloud-native, event-driven systems and APIs.
Create reference architectures, integration patterns, and roadmaps.
Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Mentor engineers and foster a results-driven engineering culture.
