Job summary

Principal Financial Group is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer I to join the Workplace Benefits Fulfillment Customer Experience / Claims Intake team in Charlotte.

You will help modernize claims operations, build customer-facing web apps, and contribute to large-scale transformations using next-gen platforms. Expect collaboration across engineering, architecture, and business partners, with agile practices and a focus on quality and customer experience.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience designing, developing, and coding applications.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code development using AWS CDK and/or CloudFormation.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Java, and SQL.
• Experience developing modern web apps with React and Next.js.
• Experience building serverless/event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Experience with TDD and quality-first engineering practices.
• Experience working in collaborative engineering environments with pairing.
