Job summary

Nightwing seeks a Senior Principal Software Engineer to design and implement high-performance HPC and hyperscale software for large-scale environments. You will analyze bottlenecks, optimize performance, and contribute across engineering teams in a fast-paced setting.

Preferred candidates hold 8+ years in C/C++ on Unix/Linux, with expertise in HPC and scalable architectures, and a TS/SCI clearance. Location options include Annapolis Junction, MD or Dulles, VA. Relocation is not mentioned.

Senior Principal Software Engineer, Hyperscale

We are seeking a senior software engineer to design and implement innovative solutions for large-scale software environments requiring excellent technical and interpersonal skills to analyze, define, implement, and optimize High Performance Computing (HPC) and Hyperscale solutions. Applicants will join a team of developers building high impact software products that must scale to meet ever-growing demand. You must be able to analyze existing software solutions and assess their bottlenecks to design and implement performant computational solutions.

Technical Requirements

• Current TS/SCI with poly required.
• Proficiency in HPC applications, hyperscale compute, and storage architectures
• Comprehensive knowledge of computer network architecture and computer software architecture
• Experience with delay tolerant networking, scalable technologies, and microservice architectures
• 8+ years of experience with C/C++ on Unix/Linux platforms using Make/CMake build systems
• Passion for software computational performance and maintainable software design

Desired Experience

• Team or task leadership experience
• Comfort working with engineers, solutions architects, and stakeholders
• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field

Position work locations are either Annapolis Junction, MD or Dulles, VA

This position is not relocation eligible, but a signing bonus may be an option for the sufficiently qualified candidate.
