Eyeline is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Houdini, to collaborate with pipeline leads and build a Houdini pipeline spanning lookdev, lighting, CFX, and FX using USD and Solaris. You will create intuitive, self-documenting workflows scalable for teams of artists.

The role emphasizes production experience, strong Python, and communicating with artists to improve efficiency. You will contribute to technical briefs and user documentation and help push Eyeline's visual effects capabilities

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Houdini pipeline code experience using Python.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to design intuitive, artist-friendly workflows without reducing functionality.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming patterns.
• Comfortable with Git and unit testing.
• Background as an FX artist using Houdini in production is a plus.
• Desire to explore inner workings of complex systems.
• Hands-on experience with OpenUSD / Solaris is a plus.
• Experience with PDG / TOPs is a plus.

The Senior Software Engineer, Houdini collaborates with Pipeline Leads to build a Houdini pipeline that spans lookdev, lighting, CFX, and FX, using USD and Solaris as a backbone. They leverage their production experience to create intuitive and self-documenting workflows that can be quickly adopted by users of differing skill levels, and which can operate efficiently on scenes of extreme scale and complexity.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Passion for staying on top of latest features in Houdini
• 8+ years experience writing Houdini pipeline code using python
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated talent for designing intuitive, artist-friendly workflows without sacrificing functionality
• Understanding of object-oriented programming patterns
• Comfortable with git and unit testing
• Desire to probe and understand the inner workings of complex systems
• Background as an FX artist using Houdini in production preferred
• Hands-on experience with OpenUSD / Solaris a plus
• Experience with PDG / TOPs preferred

$150,000 - $210,000 CAD a year

This salary range is specific to applicants applying to our position in Vancouver, BC. To determine your base salary, we consider your qualifications, skills, and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary outside of this range and will also be dependent on your location.
