Job summary

Amazon Inc. in Seattle is seeking a software engineer to design, build, and operate high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems powering Sponsored Products and Brands.

You will work on ad searching, selection, and matching, analyzing massive datasets with distributed frameworks to improve coverage, relevance, and performance. The team blends search architecture, NLP, and deep learning to push the boundaries of AI-driven advertising while maintaining strict SLAs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems handling billions of requests per day with millisecond response times.
• Build and optimize ad searching, selection, and matching systems that drive relevant sponsored ad delivery across Amazon's surfaces.
• Work with massive datasets using distributed frameworks to improve ad coverage, relevance, and performance.
• Innovate in search architecture, information retrieval, NLP, and deep learning to advance ad matching capabilities.
• Troubleshoot and support high-volume production systems while maintaining strict SLA requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that help shoppers discover products and help advertisers meet their business objectives.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide them to deliver high-impact products and services.
