Compensation: $190,000- $220,000 base salary, plus healthcare and benefits

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to develop and deliver the software that powers complex, high-performance hardware system

Required Experience and Skills

• 5–10 years of professional software development experience.
• Self-motivated team player with a strong sense of ownership.
• Extensive experience with C++ and Python.
• Strong understanding of algorithmic efficiency, performance optimisation, and system scalability.
• Familiarity with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of HTTP and RESTful web services.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with distributed, cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with event-streaming platforms such as Apache Pulsar, Apache Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, or Amazon Kinesis.
• Experience designing systems for ease of use, maintainability, and operational reliability.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate software development and testing while maintaining high-quality solutions.
• Experience analysing and fitting scientific data, particularly data generated by scientific instruments, to extract meaningful insights and optimise system performance.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban environments.
• Experience or exposure to embedded software development concepts.
• Experience with other self-diagnostic systems, particularly in medical or automotive applications.
• An academic or professional background in physics or mathematics.
