Job summary

Graphcore is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build high-performance AI compute libraries for its next-generation hardware. You will own kernels for linear algebra and tensor operations in C++ and Python close to the hardware.

You will optimize performance, ensure numerical reliability, and collaborate with the ML Kernels and Runtime team to deliver scalable, portable code that enables customers to extract maximum value from Graphcore's AI platform.

Qualifications

• Strong programming and scripting skills in C++ and Python.
• Experience profiling and optimizing code on Linux.
• Clear written and spoken communication and teamwork.
• Commitment to high-quality software and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement kernels for linear algebra and tensor ops (GEMM, batched GEMM, convolutions, reductions, elementwise and fused ops) in C++.
• Own performance and correctness - add microbenchmarks, regression tests, numerics validation.
• Profile and optimise for next generation AI hardware - threading, cache locality, memory layout, and kernel launch efficiency.
• Debug issues, resolve bugs and improve the quality and functionality of the product.
• Actively engage in and support Agile ways of working within the team.
• Mentor colleagues within the team, sharing knowledge and providing guidance.
