Job summary

Garmin Health in the Greater Kansas City area is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our health and biosignals platform. You will develop and deploy testing tools, collaborate across firmware, hardware, and software teams, and contribute to features for ECG and skin temperature sensing in Garmin wearables.

You will design software for internal tools, automation, and test infrastructure using Python, C, C++, and related languages, while documenting work and participating in code reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
• GPA at least 3.0 as a general rule
• Proficiency in designing well-architected software systems and modules
• Experience with researching problems and implementing algorithmic solutions
• Ability to lead complex software projects and decompose requirements

Responsibilities

• Apply biosignals knowledge (ECG, skin temperature) to validate sensor data and guide engineering decisions
• Support design and implementation of sensor platform software for features in active development
• Develop software for internal tools, test infrastructure, and automation
• Perform hardware/software integration testing, troubleshoot issues, reproduce root causes, and validate solutions
• Use configuration management, build processes, debuggers, simulators, and measurement instruments; contribute to test fixture design
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, mechanical, and quality teams to resolve integration issues
• Document work thoroughly and participate in code reviews
