Job summary

Google Inc. in Kirkland, WA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to push GPU performance, optimize critical kernels, and tackle bottlenecks across the GPU software stack.

You will collaborate with ML and compiler teams, work on CUDA/Triton/CUTLASS workloads, and influence deployment of Google's GPU fleet. The role offers challenging problems, equity and a market-rate compensation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience with modern GPU architectures (NVIDIA, AMD, or other AI accelerators), memory hierarchies, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Experience low-level GPU programming (CUDA, Triton, CUTLASS, etc.) and performance engineering techniques.
  • Experience with modern LLMs and their deployment on AI accelerators.

Responsibilities

  • Build optimizations for the latest generation of GPUs powering Google's products.
  • Address bottlenecks through GPU tooling and architecture knowledge.
  • Drive optimizations across Google's GPU software stack from compiler cost models to kernel tuning.
  • Collaborate with ML, compiler design, and systems teams to guide GPU software direction.
  • Influence deployment of Google's GPU fleet with product teams.

US: $174000 - $253000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Influence the technical direction of the GPU software ecosystem at Google by collaborating with ML, compiler design, and systems architecture teams.
