Job summary

evoke is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II (Go) to help design and scale backend services for a nationwide distributed device network in Austin. You will own core components from design through production, shaping architecture and the Go codebase as the platform consolidates.

You'll collaborate closely with Product, deliver API-first services, and drive reliability, performance, and resiliency across distributed systems while participating in a hybrid on-site schedule in Austin.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Go, with real experience building and operating high-scale backend systems in production.
• Solid grasp of distributed systems concepts and trade-offs.
• Experience building API-first, customer-facing services.
• Experience working with relational databases and data stores in production.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical degree.

Responsibilities

• Deliver backend projects end-to-end - from design through to production - improving reliability, performance, and resiliency across distributed systems.

We're working with a well-funded, high-growth technology company that operates a large, distributed network of connected devices deployed across thousands of locations nationwide, delivering real-time content and data at scale.

The company has scaled significantly in recent years and recently expanded its data and targeting capabilities through a strategic partnership, putting it at the leading edge of a fast-growing market category.

The role: You'll join the backend team as a hands-on senior engineer, helping build and scale the systems that power the company's real-time device network and content delivery across a large, distributed fleet nationwide - with real input into architecture and technical direction as the platform is consolidated onto a modern Go codebase.

You’ll:

• Design, build, and maintain high-scale backend services in Go

• Base: $160k - $180k + 5% bonus + equity
