Clean Harbors, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Norwell, MA to design and develop business applications and customize platforms supporting field operations, billing, and service workflows.

You will balance new development with production support, mentor peers, and work with Product Owners, QA, DBAs, and business stakeholders to raise the technical bar.

This role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and AI-assisted development to deliver reliable solutions for our environmental services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Full-stack development with Microsoft .NET.
• Experience with AI-driven software development tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving.
• Understanding of software design, debugging, and testing.
• Experience documenting software and collaborating in teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build software solutions by understanding business needs and partners.
• Follow full software development lifecycle with QA handoff.
• Evaluate requirements, risks, and trade-offs before coding.
• Document solutions with diagrams, comments, and readable code.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and pairing.
• Continuously learn new tools and best practices, incl. AI workflows.
