Ascend Learning, a leading healthcare and learning technology company headquartered in Burlington, MA, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Healthcare Workforce Solutions (HWS) group and help shape the Laudio product.

You’ll design and implement scalable cloud-based software, collaborating across time zones with React/Typescript frontends and Node.js backends on AWS. Remote-first, with occasional travel to Nepal.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Proven ability to lead projects from ideation to implementation in an iterative, agile environment.
• Strong experience building frontend applications with React and Typescript.
• Strong experience building scalable distributed systems with Node and Typescript.
• Strong database skills, including SQL performance tuning, design, and relational database management.

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable solutions - design, develop, and deploy highly available software.
• Hands-on coding across the full stack to drive product roadmap.
• Mentor teammates through code reviews and design discussions.
• Innovate and improve technology and processes across teams.
• Be the glue across feature development, infrastructure, and production troubleshooting.
