Job summary

Ascend Learning, a healthcare and learning technology company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to develop enterprise applications using .NET, C#, Angular, and modern tooling. You will collaborate with product owners, mentor engineers, and contribute to both maintenance and new features across multiple services.

The role is hybrid, based from Leawood, KS, with opportunities to work across teams and locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred in CS/Software Engineering or related field
• 6+ years of relevant software development experience for web-based applications
• Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with .NET, C#, SQL, and MVC is required
• Experience with Angular 12+, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap; knowledge of Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes is advantageous
• Experience with cloud services (AWS/Azure) and Git-based workflows; familiarity with CI/CD and Agile methodologies

Responsibilities

• Enhance and develop functionalities within Enterprise Applications using .NET, Angular, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and cloud services
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to deliver impactful projects
• Work independently and with cross-team members, including business stakeholders
• Perform code reviews to ensure high-quality software development
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
• Troubleshoot production issues and assist with design/architecture of projects
• Support deployments in production and non-production environments, including on-call rotation
