Job summary

Archer, an aerospace company in San Jose, California, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack, to design, build, and scale our web applications and backend APIs that power our real-time data visualizations. You will bridge data pipelines with intuitive interfaces and own code across the stack.

You will collaborate with Backend, Data Science, and DevOps teams, implement real-time streaming features on maps and dashboards, and contribute to deployment, testing, and performance

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience across the full stack.
• Solid proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, TypeScript) and backend languages (e.g., Python, Node.js, Rust, Go).
• Experience handling real-time data on the frontend (WebSockets, SSE) and managing application state.
• Good understanding of API design (REST/GraphQL), relational databases (PostgreSQL), and caching layers (Redis).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and modern development workflows (Git).
• Able to leverage AI coding assistants to increase velocity while fully understanding and taking ownership of all code you commit.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack, you will develop, maintain, and scale both the user-facing web applications and the core backend APIs that power our cutting-edge products. Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with web-based mapping and visualization libraries (e.g., Mapbox, MapLibre).
• Experience with real-time audio consumption workflows, including Opus decoding, browser audio rendering APIs, and managing multi-channel live audio streams via LiveKit/WebRTC.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and basic Kubernetes concepts.
• Exposure to event-driven architectures or streaming systems.
• A deep interest or background in aerospace, aviation, or autonomous systems.

Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
