Job summary

Stripe, LLC is seeking a Software Engineer to lead technical discussions and implement scalable solutions for cards and financial accounts, including onboarding, fraud prevention, and compliance.

You will mentor junior engineers, write docs on compliance and fraud, and collaborate with Product and Fraud Strategy while being on-call and reviewing cross-team API designs.

This role offers up to 50% telework, a competitive base salary, and opportunities to influence payments infrastructure at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3 years of experience in Software Engineering.
• 3 years of experience with typed (Java, C++ or Scala) or untyped languages (JavaScript, Ruby, Python).
• 2 years building end-to-end software solutions for fraud, compliance, and onboarding in the banking-as-a-service space.
• 2 years database experience (MySQL/Postgres or MongoDB).
• 5 months of experience with Web application development (AWS/Heroku/Google Cloud/Self Hosted).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions and implement scalable solutions for open-ended, medium-to-large problems in cards and financial accounts space (50%).
• Write technical briefs and roadmaps for banking-as-a-service projects (5%).
• Provide mentorship and technical training around the codebase to junior/new engineers (5%).
• Write technical documentation around compliance and fraud within the card issuing domain (5%).
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Fraud Strategy) to translate requirements into technical outcomes (5%).
• Regularly go on-call for the engineering team (10%).
• Review API and technical designs for various engineering teams (20%).
