Job summary

Jobtailor in Maryland is seeking an on-site software engineering specialist to support Unified Video (UV) deployments and resolve software, infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues in customer environments.

You will develop site-specific software enhancements, automation scripts, and custom integrations while collaborating with engineering, DevSecOps, operations, and customer personnel to ensure smooth field operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering or DevOps experience.
• Active Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain Top-Secret clearance.
• Experience with modern programming languages such as Python, Node.js, JavaScript, Java, or C++.

Job description

• Serve as the primary on-site software engineering representative supporting Unified Video (UV)
• Troubleshoot software, infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues directly within operational environments
• Develop site-specific software enhancements, automation scripts, utilities, and custom integrations to meet customer mission requirements
• Support Kubernetes-based deployments, containerized applications, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Assist with software installation, upgrades, configuration management, and release deployments
• Collaborate with engineering, DevSecOps, operations, and customer personnel to resolve complex technical issues
• Develop and maintain automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, or similar scripting technologies
• Perform root cause analysis for software and system issues and recommend long-term corrective actions
• Document operational procedures, engineering solutions, and customer-specific configurations
• Support system demonstrations, customer testing events, and field integration activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering or DevOps experience
• Active Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain Top-Secret Security Clearance
• Experience developing software using modern programming languages such as Python, Node.js, JavaScript, Java, or C++
• Experience administering Linux systems and working with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong troubleshooting skills across software, infrastructure, networking, and deployment environments.
