Job summary

Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer to design and document business requirements, develop Microsoft-based applications, and provide production support for store, website, and corporate systems in Westbury, NY.

On-site local candidate with a strong background in SSIS, SQL Server, Oracle, and ETL will join a team delivering scalable, reliable solutions to support retail operations and a growing omnichannel presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field and at least five years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of SSIS and SQL Server components (SSMS, SSRS, SSIS).
• Experience with Oracle databases and ETL processing; familiarity with retail systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and document user requirements with stakeholders.
• Maintain existing applications and develop new ones.
• Develop, test and implement code following best practices and standards.
• Collaborate with team members to build scalable solutions.
• Participate in status meetings and communicate project status.
• Suggest technical alternatives to improve processes.
