Job summary

Axon seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Scottsdale, AZ to lead design and delivery of healthcare-focused systems. You will translate ambiguous problems into durable, scalable solutions, shaping AI-powered features for clinical workflows.

You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, designers, and customers to deliver end-to-end capabilities, while guiding architecture decisions and maintaining strong engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• Experience designing cloud-based systems with high availability and performance.
• Strong system design skills balancing scalability, reliability, security, maintainability.
• Experience creating and evolving APIs/services used by other engineers or systems.
• Direct experience with EHRs and healthcare interoperability standards.

Responsibilities

• Own design and implementation of complex healthcare systems and services.
• Evolve proofs-of-concepts into production-ready systems integrated with Axon's platform and health records.
• Design and deliver AI-powered capabilities for clinical and operational workflows.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and customers to clarify requirements and iterate.
• Coordinate work across engineers and adjacent teams for end-to-end solutions.
• Maintain high technical standards through reviews, ensuring reliability and security.
