Block, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Employee Experience Engineering (EXE) in the Bay Area, CA.

The role focuses on designing and building scalable internal applications, APIs, and integrations that improve the employee experience from hiring through ongoing access to corporate services. You will lead end-to-end solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to architecture and platform improvements while exploring AI-powered capabilities to streamline

Competenze

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production applications.
• Strong full-stack development experience, including modern frontend and backend technologies.
• Experience with React, Ruby on Rails, or comparable frameworks.
• Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable internal applications, platforms, and backend services.
• Develop features and automated workflows that improve the employee experience across hiring, onboarding, and ongoing access to corporate services.
• Build and maintain APIs and integrations connecting internal platforms, enterprise applications, and third-party services.
• Own software solutions end-to-end, from technical design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing support.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Corporate Engineering, People Technology, Security, and other cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, code reviews, mentoring, and engineering best practices.
• Improve application performance, reliability, observability, and maintainability.
• Contribute to technical roadmaps, architectural decisions, and long-term platform improvements.
• Explore emerging technologies, including AI-powered capabilities, to improve employee workflows and engineering productivity.
