Job summary

Davidson Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to work onsite in Huntsville, AL, supporting the Air Force's software systems for Sentinel Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems and related infrastructure.

The role covers design, development, integration, testing, and documentation for embedded and distributed systems, aligned with Agile/DevSecOps practices and cross-functional collaboration with systems, cybersecurity, and hardware teams.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience across the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with object-oriented languages such as C++, Java, or Python.
• Experience developing for embedded or distributed systems.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/SAFe).
• Experience with CI/CD and DevSecOps environments.
• Ability to produce and maintain technical software documentation and artifacts.
• Strong collaboration across systems, hardware, cybersecurity, and other engineering disciplines.
• Ten years of relevant software engineering experience (or equivalent with degree).

Responsibilities

• Analyzes requirements, concepts of operations, system architectures to define software solutions meeting mission objectives.
• Leads design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance of complex software and embedded systems.
• Translates requirements into architecture, designs, and implementable work products.
• Evaluates alternative software approaches to meet performance and mission needs.
• Provides technical leadership for software development activities and deployment.
• Develops and maintains software documentation and engineering artifacts.
• Collaborates with Systems Engineers, Software Architects, Product Owners, and others to resolve issues.
• Supports CI/CD, automated testing, and DevSecOps practices.
