PACCAR is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA to design, develop, and deploy software for vehicle-connected technologies across edge devices and cloud platforms. You will lead code quality efforts, oversee external developers, and maintain robust documentation while aligning with PACCAR's evolving engineering practices.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in software development, with at least 3 years in embedded production environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another relevant field.
• 7+ years of industry experience in software development, with at least 3 years in building and deploying production embedded software.
• Ability to self-direct and collaborate in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions for vehicle-connected technologies on edge devices and cloud platforms.
• Write clean, maintainable code following software best practices and coding standards.
• Manage and maintain Git/GitHub repositories with proper branching, merging, and release management.
• Supervise external developers to align with project goals and quality standards.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software design and deployment procedures.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and incorporate modern software practices.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation to improve productivity and quality.
• Enforce testing standards: unit, integration, system tests.
• Support deployment and monitoring in production and respond to issues.
