Jane Technologies, Inc. is hiring a senior software engineer to implement user-facing features on our eCommerce platform, build scalable backend services, and collaborate with product and design teams.

You will mentor teammates, optimize performance for high-traffic storefronts, and contribute to architecture decisions. The role is based in Santa Cruz, CA, with on-site work, offering strong compensation and equity.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience in a product-focused team.
• Experience building frontend React applications for ecommerce/ marketplaces.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and design principles.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React; Ruby on Rails is a plus.
• Familiarity with relational databases.
• Strong technical communication and collaboration skills.
• Mentor and share knowledge within a team.

Responsibilities

• Implement, test and maintain new user-facing functionality on our eCommerce platform.
• Build scalable backend services and APIs powering web applications.
• Partner with senior engineers on architecture and design decisions.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to improve storefront offerings.
• Communicate and implement engineering best practices.
• Participate in design reviews, planning and code reviews with cross-functional teams.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
