Job summary

Index Engines, based in San Jose, CA, seeks mid to senior software engineers to develop, maintain, and support Linux-based applications and backend services. You’ll work with a team focused on scalable, secure distributed systems and collaborate with Support to resolve customer issues.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong skills in C and Python.
• Experience with high-availability, distributed storage or backup solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build distributed systems that are scalable, reliable, and secure.
• Guide architectural decisions and technical discussions.
• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and platform components.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Security teams.
• Improve system performance and resilience.
• Write clear, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Contribute to code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
