Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in New York, NY is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Redshift Query Processing team to help build and optimize the distributed execution engine powering petabyte-scale data workloads.

You will own end-to-end deliverables, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across the cloud platform to deliver high-impact analytics solutions for Fortune 500 customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming in at least one language (C++, Java, or Rust).
• 5+ years leading design or architecture of scalable systems.
• Experience mentoring or leading an engineering team.
• Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems.

Responsibilities

• Build systems for Redshift clusters and own end-to-end features.
• Define product vision and architecture for new capabilities.
• Mentor and hire engineers to grow the team.
• Lead design, development, deployment, monitoring, and operations tasks.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across teams.
