Job summary

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. (HJF) seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own a portfolio of ARMORR digital platforms, including HPRC-online.org and related tools.

You will design, build, and maintain public sites and PWAs, automate builds, manage data pipelines, and support learning technology across the ARMORR program. You will work with instructional designers and researchers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions while

Qualifications

• Broad software engineering capability spanning front-end, back-end, APIs and data handling.
• Expert-level proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript with modern framework knowledge.
• Experience building production sites using static site generators and PWAs with offline support.
• Knowledge of Drupal CMS and content migration at scale; publishing workflows for non-technical users.
• Proficiency with version control, automated pipelines, and IaC practices.
• Experience with relational databases and data ingestion pipelines.
• Familiarity with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility testing and remediation.
• Web security, dependency management, and federal compliance understanding.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tooling and rigorous review of AI output.
• Strong written and verbal communication for scientists and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain ARMORR digital platforms and tools.
• Develop PWAs with offline capabilities and interactive browser tools.
• Maintain data ingestion pipelines and supporting databases.
• Modernize architecture, hosting, and content migrations with SEO preservation.
• Establish automated build, deployment, and testing pipelines.
• Ensure accessibility and security across platforms and tools.
