Job summary

IBM is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Confluent DevProd team. You will design, build, and operate internal platform services that improve developer velocity across Kafka, Flink, and Connect within a cloud-native, multi-tenant landscape.

You will work with engineers to implement features, review code, and own components in production and pre-prod environments while continuously learning new AI-integrated developer workflows.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in CS or related field (or equivalent) with 3+ years in building cloud services or distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Java or Go and a scripting language (Python).
• CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions); familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, testing, and production operations.

Responsibilities

• Explore AI-assisted developer workflows and evaluate tools with guardrails.
• Build and maintain foundational developer infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to internal developer platform services for multi-tenant environments.
• Participate in design reviews, PR reviews, and on-call rotations.
