Job summary

The Voleon Group in New York, NY is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Developer Experience team within Software Platform. You will design and evolve the core development platform enabling engineers to build, test, deploy, and maintain software quickly and reliably across the company.

This role emphasizes automation, strong abstractions, and scalable tooling, collaborating with Application Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and ML research teams to reduce friction and standardize

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Expertise in modern programming languages such as Python, Go, Java or C++.
• Hands-on experience in Linux/UNIX environments.
• Experience designing scalable services, tooling, and APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems and deployment automation.
• Experience with build systems and monorepos (e.g., Bazel or Buck).

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve the core development platform to speed builds, tests, and deployments.
• Improve build-system tooling and macros to support growth in engineering needs.
• Reduce latency and flaky tests to increase reliability across pipelines.
• Build and standardize automated deployment pipelines across environments.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and researchers.
• Lead complex projects from requirements to software design and delivery.
