Job summary

Pure Storage is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Hyperscale Line of Business. You will build and productize shared tooling that improves developer velocity, focusing on Python and C++ workflows in a fast-moving engineering environment.

You will prototype with AI-assisted development, implement robust interfaces (REST, gRPC, CLI), and mentor others while driving operational excellence. This is an in-office role in Santa Clara with competitive salary and equity options.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of production software engineering experience in developer productivity or platform engineering.
• Mastery of Python and C++ in production Linux environments.
• Experience building internal tools and turning prototypes into shared tools.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) for reproducible environments.
• Fluent use of AI coding tools to move fast.
• Experience designing clean interfaces (gRPC, REST, CLI) for tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain shared tooling for high-toil engineering workflows.
• Prototype and iterate with AI tooling to adapt to changing requirements.
• Improve developer velocity by diagnosing workflow friction using engineering metrics.
