Achieving these standards requires robust developer tooling at every layer of the stack, from the underlying storage engine to the tools supporting our Atlas cloud offering. The Developer Productivity organization plays a vital role in enabling MongoDB engineers to ship products that meet our high company standards.
Within Developer Productivity, the Last Mile team works closely with teams across the company to identify challenges and solve them in ways that delight other development teams. Our engineers collaborate with stakeholders delivering critical features, pinpoint gaps in core infrastructure, and implement solutions that benefit all development teams. This role requires a deep empathy for stakeholders, a strong understanding of business impact, and a willingness to dive into the entire breadth of our tooling. This is a unique opportunity to drive broad impact on both the business and the daily workflows of teams throughout MongoDB.
This role can be based out of our Austin or New York City offices or remotely in the United States.
After three months, you will have made contributions to in-progress software development projects, including providing feedback and input to design changes while the project is in progress. You will be able to reliably work on small features and bugs, and medium features in areas you have worked on. You will be in discussions about next steps for larger projects to carry out in the following quarter.
You will have led or been a major contributor on one or more substantial development projects. You will be regularly suggesting and evaluating large and small projects. You will be a subject matter expert across some of our systems, and will be able to answer questions about how they perform and operate.
You will regularly be leading or making major contributions to technical projects that have a substantial impact on our ability to reliably deliver a good experience for the developers that use our products at MongoDB. You will be a strong technical resource across all of our systems, and will be able to provide support and guidance regarding technical direction. You will be responsible for mentoring newer and more junior members of the team.
