Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices is seeking an engineer to build and evolve the methodology infrastructure that powers AMD's design and verification environment. You will develop automation, improve platforms, and drive AI-enabled workflows across a global team.

Qualifications

  • Strong UNIX/Linux development and scripting skills.
  • Proficiency in Python, Perl, TCL, or similar languages.
  • Experience with software automation, workflow development, and build systems.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining database solutions.
  • Experience with Git or Perforce version control.
  • Knowledge of AI-assisted development tools and automation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with EDA tool ecosystems (Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens) is a plus.
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure and distributed computing environments is desirable.

  • Enhance and evolve the methodology flow platform used across AMD's design and verification teams.
  • Improve infrastructure performance, scalability, and usability for efficient engineering execution.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, including cloud-based solutions and AI-enabled workflows.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, and methodology teams to identify automation opportunities.

THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity to help build and evolve the infrastructure that powers AMD's world-class semiconductor design and verification environment. The Methodology Infrastructure team develops the platforms, automation, and workflows that enable engineers across the company to design next-generation EPYC™ CPUs, Instinct™ GPUs, and other industry-leading products at scale. You will work at the intersection of software engineering, EDA methodology, AI-driven development, and cloud technologies, helping deliver innovative solutions that improve productivity, performance, and usability across AMD's global design organization.

Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as you will work closely with engineering teams across multiple disciplines to define, implement, and support critical infrastructure capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain best practices, tooling, and automation for AI-powered developer workflows and CLI harnesses, including technologies such as Claude Code, Codex, and related platforms.
  • Enhance, support, and evolve the methodology flow platform used across AMD's design and verification teams.
  • Improve infrastructure performance, scalability, reporting, and usability to enable efficient engineering execution.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, including cloud-based solutions and AI-enabled engineering workflows.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, and methodology teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Strong UNIX/Linux development and scripting skills.
  • Proficiency in Python, Perl, TCL, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience with software automation, workflow development, and build systems.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining database solutions.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git or Perforce.
  • Knowledge of AI-assisted development tools and automation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with digital design methodologies and EDA tool ecosystems, including Synopsys, Cadence, or Siemens EDA, is a plus.
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure technologies and distributed computing environments is desirable.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
