Job summary

Bumble Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to shape core systems powering the Bumble Dating experience. You will own projects end-to-end, mentor juniors, and contribute to architecture in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Proven ability to run projects autonomously and deliver production-ready systems.
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js, Kotlin).
• 2+ years in cloud environments (preferably GCP) with deployment and monitoring experience.
• Experience with secure API design, distributed systems, and microservices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform) and observability platforms.
• Excellent communication and collaborative mindset.

This role is ideal for engineers who are experienced in building and delivering end-to-end features, comfortable owning projects independently, and ready to contribute meaningfully to technical architecture and mentoring junior teammates.
