Job summary

DomainTools is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Chicago. You will design and maintain web-scale data systems, lead technical initiatives, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating across multiple teams on cloud-native infrastructure.

You’ll apply expertise in Python, Rust, GoLang, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes to accelerate productivity and deliver high-impact results in a security-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional development experience with Python, GoLang, Rust or equivalent languages; Rust and Python highly valued.
• 3+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
• 3+ years of web-scale data engineering with OpenSearch, PostgreSQL, CockroachDB and Spark.
• 3+ years of professional experience with Kafka.
• 5+ years of experience with Linux/Unix environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong coordination across teams.
• Positive attitude, interpersonal skills, and enjoyment of mentoring teammates.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality results and continuous learning, especially in security space.

• Design, code and maintain web-scale data systems.
• Discover, analyze and validate new data sets to add value for customers.
• Tackle complex system challenges with creative problem solving.
• Research, prove and apply cutting-edge techniques and technologies.
• Provide accurate scope, estimates for time, capacity, and costs of projects.
• Improve engineering productivity and reduce operational toil; increase consistency.
• Provide code reviews, design feedback, demos, and documentation.
• Offer technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
