Overview

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Data in United States.

This role offers the chance to design and maintain scalable data infrastructure, focusing on backend integration and event-driven pipelines that power real-time analytics. The Senior Software Engineer - Data will bridge engineering and analytics teams, ensuring reliable, high-performance data flows from application events to the data warehouse and downstream services. You will optimize workflows, build reverse ETL processes, and support Snowflake administration while contributing to system architecture and operational best practices. The role involves mentoring other engineers and establishing technical standards, with a direct impact on data reliability, developer efficiency, and business insights. Your work will support a collaborative, remote-first engineering environment focused on continuous improvement and scalable systems.

Accountabilities
  • Design and maintain event-driven pipelines from backend systems to Snowflake, ensuring data reliability and performance.
  • Own pipeline architecture from application events through ingestion and transformation layers.
  • Establish event tracking standards, documentation, and training for engineering teams.
  • Support feature flagging and A/B testing infrastructure as needed.
  • Optimize data workflows and manage Snowflake administration, including performance tuning and cost management.
  • Build reverse ETL processes and marketing automation data flows using tools like Census.
  • Collaborate with analytics engineers on dbt deployment, testing, and production workflows.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering and product teams, including training sessions and troubleshooting support.
  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience with Python, Rails, or similar server-side technologies.
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud data warehouses, preferably Snowflake.
  • Experience with event streaming platforms and event-driven architectures.
  • Familiarity with behavioral analytics platforms such as Snowplow Analytics or Segment.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools (Fivetran, Stitch, or Airbyte) and dbt for data transformations.
  • Strong background in backend API development, systems integration, and pipeline reliability.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Permanent residency and eligibility to work in the U.S.
