What You’ll Be Responsible For

As part of the Data Platform Engineering team, you will manage the core Data/ML platform, including data ingestion, processing, pipelines, governance, security, analytics, visualization, modeling, and warehousing. These components support our Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science teams by enabling experimentation, operational excellence, and insights to accelerate growth.

What You'll Work On

• Design, build, and operate data platform services, continually improving monitoring, performance, reliability, and resource use.
• Develop and maintain data ingestion frameworks sourcing on-chain data, internal systems, and partner data.
• Become a domain expert in data warehousing, modeling, pipelines, and quality. Collaborate with stakeholders on data contracts, lifecycle, governance, and compliance.
• Provide ML data platform capabilities to facilitate data preparation, model training, and experimentation for AI/Data Science teams.
• Create and maintain core services and libraries for cataloging data assets, lineage, versioning, quality, auto-backfilling, and access controls.

What You'll Bring To Circle

Senior Software Engineer (III)

• 4+ years in software engineering for data systems.
• Experience with scalable infrastructure supporting batch, micro-batch, or streaming processing.
• Knowledge in payment systems, credit cards, bank transfers, or blockchain domains.
• Experience with data governance and provenance.
• Familiarity with open-source data technologies.
• Ability to solve complex, ambiguous problems.
• Self-motivated with ownership mentality and fast-paced adaptability.
• Strong communication skills for remote collaboration and idea sharing.

Staff Software Engineer (IV)

Includes all Senior Data Engineer requirements plus:

• 7+ years in large-scale, complex data systems engineering.
• Led teams of 5+ in architecture and system design.
• Expertise in ETL/ELT, warehousing, feature engineering, modeling, ingestion.
• Ability to identify high-impact projects independently.
• Strong experience in:
• Data warehouse architecture and design.
• Data stack integration with other tools/services.
• Implementing data quality checks.

Nice To Have

• Experience with cryptography, blockchain operations, on-chain data analysis.
• Experience with ML workflows, feature engineering, model pipelines, and data validation.

Circle aims to create an inclusive financial future with transparency. Compensation varies based on experience, skills, and location. Starting pay is within ranges listed below:

• Senior Software Engineer (III): $147,500 - $195,000
• Staff Software Engineer (IV): $172,500 - $227,500
