Job summary

HeroDevs LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Evergreen team to advance the EOLDS data pipelines and packaging infrastructure. You will own design decisions, set team patterns, and collaborate with partner teams to deliver scalable data products.

The role emphasizes building multi-model risk scoring, data quality automation, and close collaboration with data engineers and product teams. Strong ownership and written communication are essential.

Qualifications

• .5+ years of professional software engineering experience in data-intensive systems.
• Proficiency in TS/JS (Node.js).
• Experience with Kafka and data lakes/warehouses.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
• Experience designing data validation and data quality checks for datasets.
• Comfort reasoning about scoring or heuristic systems and explaining tradeoffs.
• Experience building build, release, or publishing automation (CI/CD).
• Ability to dig into unfamiliar systems and document how they work.
• Strong written communication and ability to drive technical decisions in a distributed team.
• Git-based development experience (GitHub preferred).

Responsibilities

• Improve EOLDS data quality through validation, deduplication, provenance tracking, and automated checks.
• Investigate and document how current risk heuristics work, including inputs, assumptions, and edge cases.
• Design and build a multi-model risk scoring framework supporting different risk profiles.
• Build weighted, configurable scoring for partner-specific use cases with clear explanations.
• Integrate EOLDS with Kafka and data lake, including schemas, producers/consumers, backfills, and cross-system consistency.
• Develop automated pipelines to generate, version, and publish large numbers of packages on demand.
• Add monitoring and data quality metrics to surface issues quickly.
• Collaborate with product and partner teams to translate requirements into data/scoring changes.
• Write services in TypeScript/Node.js with automated tests and CI/CD.
• Review code, mentor engineers, and raise engineering bar.
• Write documentation for datasets, scoring models, and pipelines.
• Automate package requests from partners.
