Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora is seeking a Senior Software Engineer responsible for full lifecycle analysis, design and applications programming for enterprise systems, data warehouses, and reporting. The role includes designing, testing, implementing and maintaining software solutions and may involve lead work over junior staff.

The position requires collaboration with multiple teams and participates in an on-call rotation approximately six weeks per year, with after-hours go-live

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree required.
• Five years of related experience required.
• Equivalency: combination of education, certifications, and/or experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
• Preferred: ASP.NET, C#, Node.js, React; Azure experience; AI code generation tools; experience with AI/RAG solutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, designs, builds, modifies, implements, tests and debugs software applications, architectures, databases, and systems integration to automate business processes.
• Develops and maintains coding standards, principles and practices.
• Troubleshoots complex performance and availability problems and consults with end users and IT staff.
• Designs, develops, tests, debugs, implements, and prepares flow charts for systems; may assist lower level developers.
• Acts as a technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis; oversees test data and debugging.
• Participates in Production Support on-call rotation; supports after-hours go-live events to minimize production impact.
• Prepares timelines, project plans and flow charts for development or enhancements.
• Provides enterprise-level design guidance and collaborates with teams to meet requirements and ensure maintainability.
