Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Core Reliability on the Infra Reliability team to scale our production environment and improve deployment safety across thousands of services. You will own reliability projects and partner with critical services to strengthen deployment resilience.

This role requires 5+ years of distributed systems experience, strong communication across teams, and a hands-on approach to building scalable, observable systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering in production services.
• Experience with Ruby, Go, Terraform, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Experience with observability tools like Kibana and Datadog.
• Ability to communicate architecture decisions across engineering teams.
• On-call rotations experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of reliability projects for Coinbase services.
• Partner with critical T0/T1 services to understand architecture and scalability.
• Build systems to securely manage configurations and secrets at scale.
• Improve canary-based release systems to reduce incidents.
• Promote reliability best practices across engineering teams.
