Roblox is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance the performance and stability of client applications across all platforms. You will collaborate closely with various teams to define and implement strategies for performance improvement, investigate performance issues, and promote best practices for development.
Ideal candidates should have more than 5 years of experience in complex consumer applications and strong expertise in C++, multithreading, and optimization techniques.
The position is full-time, based in our San Mateo office, and offers a salary range of $195,780 to $242,100 USD.

The Consumer App Foundation team works on core software components and solutions to make Roblox client applications more responsive, stable, and resource efficient on all supported platforms – mobile, desktop, and consoles. As Senior Software Engineer on the team, you will work on improving application performance, size, battery efficiency, and stability. You’ll report to the Engineering Manager on the Consumer App Foundation team.
$195,780 — $242,100 USD
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job‑related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full‑time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.
Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
