Job summary
Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Arlington to lead design and delivery of large-scale systems.
You will partner with Product and UX, architect cross-platform services, and champion best practices across the SDLC while mentoring other engineers. You will drive reliability with data-driven approaches, explore AI-assisted testing, and contribute to the long-term technical roadmap while collaborating with senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Experience mentoring or leading an engineering team.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Experience with Java, C++, or C# and OO design.
- Experience with full SDLC, coding standards, code reviews, and operations.
- 5+ years of professional software development.
- 5+ years of programming in at least one language.
- 5+ years leading design/architecture for scalable systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, delivery, and implementation of complex, large-scale systems.
- Collaborate with Product and UX to design customer-focused solutions.
- Architect and develop scalable services across platforms.
- Adopt GenAI tools, automated code reviews, and AI-assisted testing.
- Monitor performance and drive reliability via data-driven methods.
- Define technical strategy and contribute to long-term roadmap.
- Lead conversations with senior leadership.
- Mentor engineers and foster knowledge sharing.
- Obtain and maintain AWS Certifications.
