Job summary

Qualifications

• Typically requires 5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree or 3+ years with a Master's; PhD with relevant experience acceptable.
• Strong Python development experience and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience building distributed systems in AWS or multi-cloud environments.
• Experience with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience implementing DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and data pipelines.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or MongoDB databases.
• Experience with Linux environments and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience with modern web technologies (React, JavaScript, HTML/CSS).
• Ability to work in Agile environments with strong documentation practices.
• Eligibility for U.S. security clearance (Secret/Top Secret).
• On-site work requirement (3 days/week).

Responsibilities

• Deliver modern software capabilities with secure coding and maintainable design.
• Collaborate with UX, Architecture, Data, Security, and Operations to shape technical strategy.
• Champion cloud-native, event-driven architecture and microservices where appropriate.
• Design and integrate backend services and RESTful APIs for mission workflows.
• Build and operate ETL/ELT data pipelines and analytics data models.
• Develop and optimize SQL/DB access patterns (PostgreSQL/MongoDB).
• Implement Docker/Kubernetes deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage Linux environments and IaC (Terraform/Ansible) for dev/test/prod.
• Produce design docs, RFCs, runbooks; lead architecture reviews and incident response.
