Title: Senior Software Engineer – Cloud Enablement

Summary
Chamberlain Advisors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Cloud Enablement to support a cross-functional engineering team focused on Azure-based infrastructure design and cloud application deployment. This individual will bridge software engineering and cloud infrastructure, playing a critical role in helping teams plan and execute long-term cloud transformation efforts. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a technical thought partner who can navigate application architecture, cloud migration best practices, DevOps integration, and infrastructure as code (IaC). The role will be involved in both Cloud Runway Engineering and Cloud Capacity Engineering, supporting internal product and platform teams with cloud onboarding and capacity planning efforts. What You’ll Be Accountable For
- Drive cloud enablement initiatives by designing and implementing Azure-based processes and tooling for onboarding and application integration
- Conduct Cloud Engineering and Design Reviews, collaborating with product teams to optimize cloud adoption strategies
- Serve as a key resource for Cloud Runway Engineering, assisting with proof-of-concept development, evaluation planning, and long-term application modernization
- Collaborate with platform, architecture, and security teams to implement cloud solutions using DevOps and IaC best practices
- Help define, manage, and support cloud onboarding processes, including capacity planning and application placement strategy
- Advise development teams on application design alignment with cloud infrastructure architecture and ensure consistency across environments
- Analyze infrastructure drift and recommend long-term sustainable solutions for cloud-hosted applications
- Work across business product teams to ensure cloud architecture supports long-term scalability and operational needs
- Identify, assess, and mitigate cloud security risks, ensuring alignment with regulatory compliance standards
- Communicate regularly with program managers, engineers, end users, and leadership to ensure cloud roadmap visibility and alignment
What Qualifications You Need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 7–10+ years of combined experience in software engineering and Azure cloud infrastructure
- Strong understanding of full-stack development principles and how application architecture interacts with cloud infrastructure
- Deep technical experience with Azure cloud services, DevOps toolchains, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
- Proven ability to conduct cloud onboarding, capacity planning, and engineering design reviews
- Experience creating and executing cloud integration processes and supporting migrations from legacy systems
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, cloud automation, and monitoring solutions
- Knowledge of cloud security risks and strategies for compliance with regulatory frameworks
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of engaging engineers, stakeholders, and executives
- Ability to support and guide proof-of-concept development, technical evaluations, and architecture proposals
