Job summary

Litera in Denver, CO is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance the Kira platform within a scalable SaaS stack. This hybrid role requires in‑office presence at least 3 days a week for collaboration and growth.

You’ll design and deliver backend services and RESTful APIs using Clojure or Lisp-family language, optimize performance, and mentor peers while partnering with cross-functional teams to drive platform reliability and security.

Qualifications

• Proven professional software development experience with Clojure or a Lisp-family language.
• Strong understanding of scalable SaaS applications and modern architecture.
• Solid SQL experience, including PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies and engineering best practices.
• Strong collaboration within distributed teams.

What You’ll Bring

Must‑Haves

• Proven professional software development experience using Clojure or a similar Lisp‑family language
• Strong understanding of scalable SaaS application development and modern software architecture
• Solid SQL and relational database experience, including PostgreSQL
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and engineering best practices
• Strong collaboration and communication skills within distributed, cross‑functional teams

Nice‑to‑Haves

• Experience with ClojureScript
• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, RabbitMQ, ElasticSearch, or similar technologies
• Understanding of application security principles
• Passion for continuous learning and improving engineering processes

Pay Transparency for Colorado Applicants

The base salary range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000 USD. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, and other relevant qualifications. This role is also eligible to participate in a company bonus plan. In addition to base salary, Litera offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with company match, and incentive and recognition programs. Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.
