Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer, CDN (Starlink) to design and scale a new Content Delivery Network for Starlink, building robust distributed systems and tooling for real-time operation.

You will lead architecture and code reviews, prototype new concepts, and optimize hardware utilization and cost efficiency across multiple CDNs in a fast-paced, globally impactful environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or other STEM discipline and 5+ years of professional experience; or 7+ years without a degree.
• Software development experience in C, C++, or Rust.
• 3+ years of distributed systems experience or CDN design/ scaling.
• 3+ years of networking experience.
• Advanced degree in computer science or engineering preferred.
• Experience with edge networking, DNS, caching, load balancing, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale a new Content Delivery Network (CDN) for Starlink.
• Build robust, responsive, and scalable distributed systems.
• Develop tools, visibility, and alerting to diagnose and operate complex systems in real time.
• Design algorithms to optimize hardware utilization and cost efficiency against performance metrics.
• Implement traffic systems across multiple CDNs.
• Participate in and lead architecture, design, and code reviews.
• Develop prototypes and run experiments for future concepts.
