Job summary

Electronic Arts is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Animation team to develop core animation systems and editor tools. You will collaborate with content creators to build features in C++ and C#, and mentor junior engineers in a hybrid remote/in-office environment.

Responsibilities include owning features from design through testing, optimizing runtime performance, and working with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver immersive animation experiences for EA titles.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong professional programming skills to improve and debug C++ and C# code.
  • Experience working with 3D math, including transforms, rotations, and coordinate systems.
  • Experience in game engine development.
  • Performance and memory profiling.
  • Experience with concurrent programming models.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Our Animation team oversees the core platform that animation technologies across AAA games are built upon. As part of our team, you will handle a variety of rewarding engineering challenges—from improving user workflows for content creators to optimizing real-time runtime performance. As a Senior Software Engineer in the Animation team, you will report to the Development Director in Animation. You’ll work on core animation systems that run in-game, as well as the tools and workflows used by content creators to build and author animation data. This role is Hybrid remote/in-office.

You Will

Compensation And Benefits

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES
  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$141,400 - $204,400 CAD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and other incentive programs.
