Job summary

Uber is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Sunnyvale to architect mission-critical systems that power trust across our global marketplace, from ensuring millions of earners are paid accurately and on time to scaling pricing simulations that drive billions in pricing decisions. You will own projects from design to production in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Rate of Pay: $235,500 to $246,000 per year. You will be eligible for Uber's bonus program and various benefits.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, Java, Git or SVN.
• Experience with SQL or MySQL; data structures and algorithms; debugging production services.
• Distributed systems, database compiler optimization, big data analytics, and ML engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software applications.
• Design, develop, and/or test software applications using company technology stack.
• Apply technical knowledge to evaluate complex data, developments, and projects to resolve issues.
• Support the company's business operations and improve engineering productivity.
• Build software components that integrate into a full system.
• Solve production issues in product and system reliability.
• Work on Presto SQL Plan Optimization to improve query performance.
• Work on Velox Core Runtime Engine to improve CPU utilization and throughput.
• Work on large-scale Compute Engine Control Plan to improve reliability and optimize user workloads.
• May telecommute.
